About Me

Cooking is a self expression, an art and an experience which incapsulates all five senses in a way that nothing else can. I love how food brings people together. Food tells stories about culture, history, the family. I am fortunate to have parents that love to travel. It is through travel that my love for cooking and food really came to life. I have spent most of my summers in Italy starting when I was six and was there all last year. I have enjoyed learning about how Italians view and value food. The lovely, truly renaissance man who takes care of the garden at my families house has been an extremely influential teacher, not just about how to grow produce, when to harvest it, how to role pici, but about how to live ones life. Devi fare una vita che ti piace. You have to make a life you like.
After I graduated high school my father and his fiance took to me Morocco. What I found in Morocco astounded me. The spices, produce, colors and smells were like none I had ever experienced before. We were there during the height of the orange season and for dessert sliced oranges sprinkled with cinnamon were served a long with mint tea. The enjoyment from a sliced orange dusted with cinnamon is why I love food so much. The simplest food experiences can have a profound effect on ones memory. I hope you enjoy the recipes I have experimented with and posted. I love vegetables so get ready!
